Who is Pat and what does he know?

I have lived in SW Idaho my entire life and have 60 years of experience and knowledge about this beautiful state. After graduating from the University of Idaho I went back to the classroom as a biology teacher for six years. That is where I met my wife as we were opposing tennis coaches.

Then the opportunity of a lifetime for me came available as I was hired to work for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. I was an enforcement officer “Game Warden” for ten years where I rescued deer from Chinese Restaurants, rode moose, netted elk, trapped deer and the list goes on. From all of these experiences I have developed a lifetime love for wildlife and its habitat.

This love of the wildlife and the habitat sent me to the headquarters office where I could do much more for wildlife. My first position was working as the Landowner Relations Coordinator. This job was to develop programs to help the agricultural community work with wildlife damage issues and opening their property to use by sportsmen.

The last several years of my career I became the lobbyist for the Department at the legislature. Wow, was it quite a culture shock going from Levi’s and a 4 wheel drive pickup to an office environment wearing a coat and tie every day. I spent these 8 years learning all I could about Idaho law, water rights, private property rights, license and tag fees and writing and getting important bills for the Department passed.

After I was retired for a short period of time I decided I had too much energy left in the tank to sit around so I became a Real Estate agent. This business is a natural for me. I am able to call upon my many experiences from Fish and Game to know where to look to find the perfect cabin site close to the type of recreation my client’s desire. Recently I have taken another step and started marketing larger properties to groups of sportsmen. Many of these people want their own land for hunting and fishing opportunities and my experiences help us find that property.

I also work with my clients to find family homes that fit their needs. As I stated earlier, I am very knowledgeable about properties throughout south Idaho so finding you the right home is very important to me.
